Editorial policy

The short version

We choose stores and codes for shoppers, not for advertisers. Every store fact shows its source and the date we checked it, commissions never change the order of codes, and when we get something wrong, we fix it quickly and say so.

Who writes and checks our content

Our editors write the store and category pages and check every store we cover by hand. MediaTech is responsible for everything published on TriedCodes.

We may use software tools, including AI, to help draft or check text, but an editor reviews and approves everything before it's published, and every fact is checked against its source.

How we choose stores

We cover US stores in three categories: fashion and beauty, outdoor and fitness, and home and electronics. We add a store when shoppers are likely to look for it and we can tell them something useful: a working code, a real sale, or a way to save such as a loyalty program or student discount.

We list stores whether or not we earn a commission from them. We remove a store if it closes, stops shipping to the US, or misleads shoppers.

Where our information comes from

• The store itself: its website, help pages and emails. This is where store facts come from, such as shipping thresholds and return windows.
• Affiliate networks: the store's official offer feed, with start and end dates, and order reports that show which codes were used.
• Shoppers: codes and corrections people send us, which stay labeled "Shared by shoppers" until orders confirm them.

We don't copy codes from other coupon sites. A code only appears if the store published it, sent it through its network, or a shopper sent it to us, and it's always labeled with its source.

How we check codes and facts

Every code shows a label that says how we know it works, as explained on how we confirm codes. Every store fact links to the page it came from and shows the date we last checked it. We recheck store facts regularly, and whenever a store changes its policies or a shopper reports a problem.

How we rank codes and sales

Codes are ordered by evidence: how often they worked in real orders, how recently, where they came from, and what shoppers told us. Commissions, advertising and partnerships never change that order. A store can pay to feature an offer, but it's always labeled "Sponsored", and it never appears as "Confirmed by orders" unless real orders confirmed it.

Independence

Stores and networks can send us codes, sales and corrections to their store facts, and we'll check them like anything else. They can't review, approve or change what we write about them, and they can't pay for better placement outside labeled sponsored spots. If a store ever gives us something that could affect our independence, we'll say so on its page.

Reviews and ratings

We don't publish star ratings or reviews of stores, and we never publish fake reviews or testimonials. Our pages describe what a store offers and how to save there, based on facts we can show you.

Corrections

If you spot a mistake, such as a code that's wrong, a fact that's out of date or a broken link, please tell us. We look at every report within two business days. When a correction changes something important on a page, we update the page's "Updated" date and, where it matters, note what changed.
