The short version
TriedCodes doesn't set any cookies when you browse it. Our affiliate partner Skimlinks runs a script on our pages that tracks clicks to stores, and when you click through to a store, the affiliate network sets its own tracking cookie so the store knows the order came from us. When we add ads from Google AdSense, we'll list their cookies here and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website saves in your browser. Some are needed for a site to work or stay secure. Others remember you across visits or across different websites, for example to measure clicks or show ads.
Apart from the Skimlinks script described below, we don't use similar technologies such as local storage, tracking pixels or browser fingerprinting.
Cookies we set
None. You can use every part of TriedCodes, including codes, sales and the contact form, without getting a cookie from us.
Security cookies from Cloudflare
Cloudflare protects the site from bots and attacks. It may set short-lived cookies that are needed for security, not for tracking, so they can't be switched off.
| Cookie | What it's for | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|
| __cf_bm | Tells real visitors apart from bots | 30 minutes |
| cf_clearance | Remembers that you passed a security check, so you don't see it again | Usually 30 minutes |
| _cfuvid | Applies fair limits on how often a visitor can load pages | Until you close your browser |
Affiliate tracking cookies
When a store's affiliate program has approved us, clicking "Show code", "Shop the sale" or "Go to store" sends you through a short redirect (/go/…) and the affiliate network's website on the way to the store. The network sets its own cookie on its own website, with a random click ID, so the store knows the order came from us and can pay our commission. It doesn't change your price or whether a code works.
How long the cookie lasts is set by each store's program, usually between 1 and 45 days. The network's own cookie policy explains exactly what it stores.
We don't have any affiliate partnerships yet, so we don't earn commissions from any store. When we do, the networks will be listed here.
Once you're on the store's website, the store's own cookie and privacy policies apply.
Skimlinks
We work with Skimlinks, an affiliate network that gives us access to many stores. Its script runs on our pages: when you click a link to a store, it turns that link into an affiliate link so the store knows the visit came from us. To do this, Skimlinks may use cookies and similar technologies and collect details such as your IP address, browser and device, the page you were on and the link you clicked. Skimlinks' privacy policy explains what it collects and how to opt out.
Ads from Google AdSense
We plan to show ads from Google AdSense. These ads aren't live yet, and we'll update this section before they are. When they go live:
- Google and other third-party vendors will use cookies to show ads based on your previous visits to TriedCodes or other websites.
- Google's advertising cookies let it and its partners show you ads based on your visits to our site and other sites on the internet.
- You'll be able to turn off personalized ads in Google's Ads Settings, or opt out of some other vendors' personalized ads at aboutads.info.
- How Google uses information from sites that use its services explains more.
We'll ask for your consent before these cookies are set where the law requires it, and you'll be able to change your choice at any time.
How to control cookies
Every browser lets you see, block and delete cookies:
Blocking cookies won't stop codes from working or change your price. If you block affiliate cookies, the store may not know the order came from us, and we won't earn a commission, which is fine.
Global Privacy Control
If your browser sends the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of any sale or sharing of your personal information, including for targeted ads. See Do Not Sell or Share in our privacy policy.
Changes to this notice
When we add or change a cookie, we'll update this page and the date at the top first.
